A Dramatic Wedding Dress

These couture wedding gowns are so stunning they literally took my breath away.  They most certainly have that "wow" factor every bride wants when she walks down the aisle.  I already posted about my love for simple wedding dresses here, which I feel can be just as eye-catching and beautiful as one of these gowns, but in a different way.

Goodbye Arizona, Hello New York!

Sorry it's been a few days since I last posted!  I have been so busy finishing up my last week of work, saying goodbye to friends and family, and packing up boxes upon boxes of clothes, shoes, pots, pans, and Lord knows what else!  I am happy to say that at this moment I am 100% done packing and ready to head to the airport. Scottsdale, Arizona has been my home for the past 22 years and I will miss it dearly, but am so excited to embark on this adventure of living in New York City.  Look out for tons of fabulous sightseeing pictures and outfit posts next week!

Thick Brows

Thick eyebrows are the best kind of eyebrows.  I look back at pictures of me from high school with thin, overly waxed brows and cringe.  They made my face look wider than it was and eyes look smaller than they were.  Thick eyebrows frame your face and make your eyes pop.  So let those babies grow out a bit, I promise it'll be worth it!

Starburst Mirrors

I have been seeing these starburst mirrors EVERYWHERE.  At first, I wasn't crazy about them because I felt that they were trendy and too modern.  After seeing them in modern, traditional, and bohemian rooms, I now appreciate them and feel that they are a must have in any home.  They add that quirky element to a bedroom or living room that is often needed to bring all of the elements in a room together.

The Perfect Hat

As of late, I've been on the hunt for the perfect off white colored hat.  I've stopped into Urban, Free People, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and JCrew and yet none of their hats were quite right.  Hopefully I'll be more successful in NYC next week, because summer is coming to an end, and I want to wear one before it get's too late!

Bangs

I used to do a little modeling and came across this picture while cleaning out my portfolio.  (For more pictures from my portfolio you can click here, here, here and here)  Looking back, I cannot believe that I agreed to getting my haircut like this for a salon poster.  The severe bangs were all wrong with my bone structure and I ended up clipping them back for months.  With the right bone structure, however, bangs can look so chic and pretty.

Summer Staples

This summer I simplified my life by packing away all of my belongings (in preparation for my move) except for a few select things.  These few things became my summer staples and I realized that with a little creativity and an open mind, they could go a long way.  For example, I paired my favorite Rich and Skinny denim "lover" shorts with a James Perse T and Michael Kors watch to run errands, and then was able to pair them with an Equipment blouse and Pour La Victoire Jaclyn wedges to meet friends for dinner.  I can happily say that this summer, I mastered the art of styling.  I just cannot wait to get my hands on those boxes of clothing, shoes, and accessories that have been sitting in my garage for months.  I can only imagine the outfit options I'll have with all of them!

Derby Hats

Whether you're attending the Kentucky Derby or Opening Day at the Del Mar Racetrack, a fabulous hat is an absolute must.  Last summer I attended a Kentucky Derby themed party and found my hat, in the last picture, at Neiman Marcus.  My sister and her best friend, in the second to last picture, got their hats for Opening Day at a boutique in Del Mar.  Finding the perfect derby hat can be tricky though, so looking online is always a safe bet!
