I envision this charming country estate with a fireplace in every room, exposed brick, dark wood floors, oversized chairs, and oriental rugs. The perfect house for entertaining, it has a huge kitchen perfect for making baked brie, roasted chicken, and beef stew on cold winter night for friends and family. A wine cellar holds carefully chosen bottles ready to enjoy at anytime. The backyard is private and boasts many gardens with fresh basil and tomato plants. I can see this house being anywhere on the East Coast or even in a small European town. It would be the perfect place to recharge on the weekends after a hectic week in the city.

The weather dropped suddenly 2 weeks ago and I started preparing for the Fall by bringing out my boots, jackets, and scarves. Luckily it has risen since then and been around 75 degrees - AKA perfect weather for these short+jacket/sweater combos...

A great way to update your home, without doing something drastic, is to paint the front door a bright color. Growing up we had a royal blue front door, cherry red front door, and then a glossy black front door. It amazed me how fresh and revived the exterior looked after it was repainted. My all time favorite color for a front door has to be cherry red - that with a white house, black shutters, and topiaries on either side of the door sounds perfect to me!

I came across these beautiful pictures on the Veranda website and had to share. The pictures are from the home of Carolyne Roehm whose trip to Italy inspired her to throw an intimate dinner party at her Connecticut home. The table setting was inspired by the many pots of hydrangeas on the Piazza della Signoria and the food was inspired her meals in Florence. Olives, parmesan, salami and sea salt paired with the hydrangeas and blue and white table cloth for the perfect alfresco meal.

I envisioned this traditional home with updated traditional decor. I would love to see it with a black glossy painted front door, a funky chandelier in the bedroom, an indoor/outdoor shower, and modern lighting fixtures in the kitchen. I would plop this house right in a charming neighborhood in LA off Mulholland Drive.

The big hair trend on the runway this season was sleek ponytails. Sleek, smooth, chic looking ponytails which I seem to never be able to do. But nonetheless they are fun to look at...

I just got home from the Elie Tahari show. Words cannot even properly describe what I was feeling during it - I got goosebumps! The lights, music, hair, makeup, and of course clothing were absolute perfection. The gorgeous colors he used (cream, blue, orange) all worked together to create this incredibly ethereal, luxurious vibe. I can't wait until the collection hits stores.

Right now I am so into black and white decor. It's clean and modern - you really can't go wrong with this color combo.
