Comfort Food
It's snowing here in NYC, yes snowing! Apparently it's the first time in 140 years it has snowed here in October. I am kind of bummed because I bought tickets to a Halloween pub crawl tonight and got a cute Indian costume (feather headpiece and all), but now I'm thinking I just want to stay warm and stay home. I might as well make the best of tonight and make some good comfort food, right? I'm debating between this gourmet version of pigs in a blanket with asparagus and ham, grilled cheese with bacon+tomato soup, or a big bowl of steaming hot pasta with butter and cheese. Decisions, decisions.

Fall Must Have: Trench
There's nothing I love more than a classic trench coat. When shopping for one, be mindful of the cut. Trench coats are often boxy and have a lot of fabric, so it's important to pick one that is very fitted. I've been wearing my trench everyday this month. When it's tied it keeps me warm, and when it's open it provides the perfect amount of ventilation. It's also waterproof which is wonderful for this unpredictable New York weather!

A Great Read
Lately I've been traveling a lot for work - taking the train to and from Connecticut and Grand Central. I usually put headphones in and listen to Pandora (everything from Lady Gaga to Taylor Swift) but my cell service on the train is unpredictable and I've been yearning to find a good book to pass the time. Luckily my mom just sent me Elin Hildebrand's latest book, Silver Girl. She is my favorite writer and I cannot wait to start reading it. What are you currently reading? Send me your book suggestions!

Country House
I can see this house in a quaint town in Connecticut, tucked away behind huge trees, down a winding, hidden road. It would be protected with a gorgeous iron gate so dogs and children could run freely around the property. It would boast a pool house and rows of lounge chairs perfect for throwing summer barbeques and pool parties. The entire house would be decorated in a navy and white color scheme through toile wallpaper, glossy paint and various Ralph Lauren fabrics. The decor would be traditional with family heirlooms and antiques in every room, but crisp white walls and curtains would prevent it from feeling too stuffy and formal.
