Wanderlust

I'm hopping on the 6AM train from Penn Station to Boston tomorrow.  I'm tired just thinking about that wake up call, but I'm also excited.  Traveling is one of my favorite parts of my job.  I love exploring new cities and meeting new people.  I don't have room in my bag to bring my Canon Rebel T3i, but I'll be snapping pics from my iPhone and uploading them to Instagram - so be on the look out!

Diane James Flowers

Diane James flower arrangements are classic and timeless - each one is handmade using the highest quality of silk flowers.  You may be familiar with them as they are carried at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.  Diane James studied the art of floral composition from the famous Lady Pulbrook and has been creating beautiful arrangements ever since.  She is favored by top designers like Michael Kors, Barbara Barry and Mario Buatta.  I had the pleasure of meeting Diane's two daughters, Carolyn and Cynthia, a few months ago.  We instantly bonded over our love of interior design, travel, and blogging.  Carolyn and Cynthia run Diane James Home and help their mother create a new collection every season.  I'm so excited to announce that they are offering one of you lucky readers an arrangement - details to come!

Lulu DK Fabric

If I had to pick a favorite fabric this would be it.  It combines my love of ocean inspired decor with just the right amount of color.  I envision it on everything from oversized, winged back chairs to plush throw pillows.  Lulu deKwiatkowski is the designer behind all of these beautiful fabrics.  Lulu has an incredible background - she grew up in the Hamptons and the Bahamas, then studied fine arts at Parsons and painting in Paris.  Following Paris, she explored India, Morocco, and Peru. Lulu's mission is "to merge the artistry and craftsmanship of the old world with the youthful modernity and joie de vivre of the new."   It is easy to see that she does just that.

The Standard

A few weekends ago my friend Eva came to town.  Whenever she comes she always stay at The Standard, which is easily one of my favorite hotels.  The location could not be better - it's in the very heart of the Meatpacking District.  The shopping is unreal - Scoop, Intermix, DVF, Vince and Tory Burch are just around the corner.  The restaurants are divine - Catch, STK, Pastis are all within walking distance.  And the surrounding bars are simply the best - Le Bain, Gansevoort, and The Griffin.  Here's what my 24 hours at The Standard looks like...

Inside DVF's NYC Apartment

Take a peek inside Diane Von Furstenberg's incredible penthouse located above her office in the Meatpacking District.  I am completely in awe - the space, the location, and the views couldn't be better. Architectural Digest wrote an amazing article about the space which you can read here.

West Village Townhouse

Imagine if you had this West Village townhouse all to yourself.  You could convert one of the three bedrooms into a closet and dressing room.  You'd fill the apartment with fashion magazines and fresh flowers.  You'd always have wine and cheese in your cabinet ready for last minute house guests, and your bar would always be stocked full of ingredients to make your signature white cranberry cosmo.

Brooklyn Flea

A few shots from the Brooklyn Flea last weekend.  I am slowly falling in love with Brooklyn.  I've been able to explore Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Brooklyn Heights.  My boyfriend works in Brooklyn Heights, which is full of beautiful townhouses that date back to the 1800s.  The view of downtown Manhattan from the Promenade is seriously breathtaking.  I'm hoping that I start feeling better by Sunday so that I can explore Williamsburg and Dumbo - I've heard great things about both!

SATC

I read this quote and instantly thought of Sex and the City.  It sounds like something Carrie would say, don't you think?  I hope you've all had a great week so far!  I'm so relieved tomorrow is Friday.  I feel like I'm getting sick so I'm really looking forward to relaxing this weekend.  TiVo, green tea, and a little blogging sounds just wonderful to me!

Must Have: Wide Leg Pants

For Spring, I am loving wide leg, silk pants.  You can wear them to the office or you can wear them uptown on the weekends.  You can wear them with sky high heels or have them tailored to suit your Chanel ballet flats.  They are comfortable and light - ideal for warm afternoons and cool nights. If you're not quite ready to bare leg it with skirts and dresses (I don't know about you, but my legs are extremely pale right now!) then these really are the perfect alternative.

Just Beachy

I picture this Del Mar beach house belonging to a former East Coast couple.  They would fill the house with a few pieces from their old house - mostly blue and white, nautical inspired things, but update it with camel-colored leather Ralph Lauren benches, light linen curtains, and salvaged wood side tables.

Eyebrow Envy

I am seriously envying all of these ladies brows right now, but particularly Lily Collins' (3rd pic down). I got my brows waxed last week at my favorite spot (Anastasia Brow Studio) but had a different aesthetician than usual.  The woman waxed a little too much and now I am stuck with thin brows.  The only positive is that I'll be saving $32/wax by not getting my brows done for the next few months! Anyways, I hope you all had an amazing weekend and I am so excited to announce the winner of the Flutter by Jill Golden rings!  Congrats to lucky #17 Viviana, enjoy your beautiful rings!

TGIF

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.  Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." -Coco Chanel

Messy Waves

I have been trying to perfect the "messy" waves hairstyle for years, but it's not as easy as it looks.  It's funny how that effortless look really isn't all that effortless!  Luckily, I stumbled upon this messy waves how-to on the Nasty Gal blog.  I'm going to buy this Bumble and Bumble thickening spray and this Hot Tools Curling wand (I swear by Hot Tools curling irons) and follow their 5 easy steps.  I'll let you all know how it goes!

Hollywood Glam

I picture this house being in a charming Hollywood Hills neighborhood.  The house would have an eclectic mix of new and vintage pieces.  The color palette would be light - all white, grey and ivory - to contrast the dark mahogany floors.  The back patio would be spacious and perfect for hosting cocktail parties.
