Park Avenue Autumn

I ran a bunch of errands on the Upper East Side this morning.  I picked up a present at the Ralph Lauren Children's store (they seriously have the cutest kids clothes), popped into Chloe to check out their new bag (I just had to after seeing it here on Olivia Palermo), and looked over the menu at Park Avenue Autumn.  Is their dinner menu to-die-for or what?  I already know what I'm going to order; the butternut squash soup, free range roasted chicken, and warm pumpkin and molasses cake. #yum

Trench Coat Weather

I started a new Pinterest board devoted entirely to Fall fashion.  The Fall weather we've been having in New York has been so perfect lately - right in the mid 60s.  I wore my classic Burberry trench (also love this trench) last night with my Alice and Trixie dress and wasn't cold at all.  I'll be keeping my tights at the bottom of my sock drawer for as looooong as possible!

Decorating with Pumpkins

Yesterday I went apple picking (for the first time!) and brought home a huge bag of apples and pumpkins from the pumpkin patch next door.  I baked an apple pie with my apples, but couldn't decide what to do with the pumpkins.  Carving pumpkins isn't really an option in my tiny NYC apartment so I am going to try one of these fun DIY ideas.  I'm leaning towards the pumpkin with flowers - it would make the perfect centerpiece for my Shabby Chic bistro table!

City Guide: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Buenos Aires is such an amazing city filled with passion and culture.  It is like no place I've ever been. Argentine people are so carefree.  They don't worry about being late - they just go at their own pace. They eat dinner at 10PM and make it last for hours - savoring everything.  My days there felt so long - I loved it.  I can't wait to return!  A few of my favorite shops and restaurants...

Rapsodia - The best boutique - they carry colorful, bohemian dresses and blouses.
Capital - A fun shop filled with quirky knick knacks and unique gifts.
L & R Handcraft - They carry beautiful suede notebooks and colorful stationary sets.
El Burgues - The ultimate men's clothing store.  I wanted to buy Tommy everything in there!
The Food Factory - Ideal for lunch - they have fresh, American gourmet food.
Osaka - Delicious Japanese food, chic atmosphere.
Milion - An old mansion turned restaurant/bar - the perfect place to grab drinks and meet someone.
Asia de Cuba - If you're in the mood to go out this is the place to go!  Note: it gets busy around 3AM.
La Recoleta Cemetery - The architecture and history behind this cemetery is so unique.
Palermo Soho - My favorite neighborhood - it's filled with the best cafes and boutiques.
Palacio Duhau - The most beautiful hotel. Their afternoon tea service is a must.

Buenas Tardes

A few outfit shots from my second to last day in Buenos Aires.  This scarf was a hot commodity on the trip - my mom, sister and I all wore it throughout the week.  Theodora and Callum makes the best scarves - I'm going to invest in a few more for the Fall and Winter!

Palacio Duhau

For the past week I've been staying at the beautiful Palacio Duhau.  It's no surprise that the Palace is considered one of the world's top hotels.  Everything was perfection - the grounds, service, food, amenities...I could go on and on.  I can't wait to come back!

Palermo Soho

I spent the afternoon walking around Palermo Soho - an area known for having the best boutiques, bars, restaurants and cafes.  It is by far my favorite area in Buenos Aires.  I fell in love with Rapsodia - the cutest boutique with a similar aesthetic to Calypso St. Barth.  I also loved Indiga, Ayres and Vitamina.  I'm giving away the bracelets I'm wearing below in a few weeks so stay tuned!

La Recoleta

Yesterday we went to La Recoleta - a famous cemetery where Eva Peron and many other notable Argentinian's graves lay.  The mausoleums there are made of beautiful marble and stone, and come in all different architectural styles - Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Baroque, and Neo Gothic.  Many of the tombs have been imported from Paris and Milan, and have a unique history behind them.  You can see more pictures from La Recoleta on my Facebook page.  Yesterday was chilly and rainy so I wore my J.Crew downtown field jacket, Missoni scarf, and Rag & Bone booties.

The Grayson Dress

I had so much fun playing dress up at the Alice & Trixie showroom this week.  Their Spring collection is filled with beautiful patterns and vibrant colors.  I got to take home this dress which is so versatile. I've already worn it to work with ballet flats and a blazer, and to dinner with heels and a long necklace. I'm loving long necklaces right now - especially tassel ones.  After seeing Rachel Zoe in this tassel necklace at the Lucky FABB conference I've had my eye out for a great tassel necklace - I love this one from Club Monaco.

Calypso Home

I popped into Calypso Home (my go-to home decor store in the city) to get some design inspiration for my apartment.  I always love looking at their John Robshaw pillows, eclectic accessories and unique furniture.  How amazing is this bed?  It has tufting and nailheads - what more could you want?! Apparently they're going to be getting even more beds next week, so I'm going to go back when I return from Buenos Aires.  You can keep up with my Argentinian adventures on instagram! (kattanita)

Small Bedrooms

I love these small bedrooms - they are perfectly petite!  Tiny sconces, lamps, prints, and bedside tables add charm and character to these spaces.  Which one is your favorite?

Grilled Cheese+Tomato Soup

When my mother (the best cook in the world) ran out of things to make for lunch she used to always turn to a classic combo; grilled cheese+tomato soup.  It's still a go-to lunch for me and in my opinion, is the ultimate comfort food.  I stumbled upon this fun "Grown up Grilled Cheese" guide on Bon Appetit, which led me to this tomato soup recipe.  I figured I had to share it with all of you because who doesn't love grilled cheese+tomato soup?!
